In the first week of The Grocer's Christmas Pricewatch in the drinks aisles it is clear that, so far, beer is the key footfall driver for the multiples. The price of Stella Artois is already lower than it was this time last year at 11p per 100ml in Morrisons. The price of Baileys, however, is higher than it was in November 2005. This week all retailers offered the same two-for-£25 deal on Baileys and Bell's whisky. The price of Bell's and Hardys showed little change from this time last year but, historically, offers on these brands appear nearer to Christmas Day.
