Seafood processors in Devon and Cornwall are benefiting from a scheme launched by the Sea Fish Industry Authority designed to improve their performance and profits.
After a recent visit to the region by economists Hazel Curtis and Aoife Martin, five processing companies have taken advantage of the scheme, which benchmarks a company's performance against similar sized businesses in the food and drink industry.
Rob Wing, of Wing of St Mawes, a Newquay based processor, said: "It's really good to see Sea Fish offering a practical service that can bring tangible benefits to the processing industry."
Economists work with processors to identify improvements after the benchmarking.
