Turkey producers are looking to British Food Fortnight to boost flagging turkey sales.
In return for supporting the event, which runs from 22 September to 7 October, British Turkey has the right to use the BFF logo on promotional material. Suppliers plan to ask retailers for permission to put the logo on packs of turkey, but a spokeswoman said there was no guarantee this would happen.
Turkey sales have still not recovered after February's bird flu outbreak at a Bernard Matthews farm in Holton, Suffolk. Nielsen figures at the start of May showed sales were still 27% lower than the same period in 2006.
