Pulse will be launched in the on-trade next month in three versions cranberry and ginger, citrus and juniper, and pear. The company said it would look to roll the 6.3 % abv drink out into the off-trade at a later stage.
Merrydown Cider MD Chris Carr said Pulse would appeal to wine spritzer drinkers. "This is the first new product launch since the success of Two Dogs in 1994, the alcoholic lemonade which sparked the RTD boom. Again, Merrydown is leading the way by developing a trendsetting drink," he said.
A special font has been designed to ensure that the drink is served at a precise temperature along with branded glasses.
Pulse will be supported with trade and consumer press adverts.
