It can be hard to distinguish between the wide range of orange squashes on the market but, as a consumer, you are looking for a refreshing and flavoursome alternative to water.

Sainsbury's squash (four stars) had the best balance between strength and flavour, and was comfortably refreshening.

There was very little to choose between the offerings from Tesco, Asda and Morrisons (all three stars), however.

Tesco's had a deeper colour and a strong orange taste, Asda's was paler with a slight hint of other fruits, while Morrisons' was sweet but pleasant.

Waitrose's drink (one star) was the only drink to completely disappoint, and had an unpleasant taste that did not leave you wanting more.
