This week's taste test for the tastiest tomato cup soup resulted in a draw between Tesco and Sainsbury's (both four stars out of five). Their soups both had plenty of herb flavours, a thicker texture than the others and added noodles.

Morrisons' soup (three stars) had an authentic, unsweetened tomato taste, unlike some of its rivals. The flavour was nice but it was a bit on the thin side and there was no hint of the basil listed in the ingredients.

Asda's offering (two stars) was the cheapest at 55p but tasted very sweet and not much of tomatoes. However, it had a moreish quality, unlike Waitrose's (two stars), which was the most expensive at 69p and the blandest. It was thin and boring with little tomato taste.
