Beer distributor Refresh UK is adding Wadworth 6X to its growing ale and lager portfolio. Refresh has signed a deal with Wadworth to take over the sales and distribution of the brew from Interbrew which has handled the brand for a number of years. The changeover will take place in the next few weeks. Until then the Belgian giant will continue to handle 6X in the take home market. Refresh chief executive Rupert Thompson said: "Wadworth 6X is widely regarded as one of the all-time classics, a wonderful example of a full flavoured English beer. It will be an ideal complement to our existing range of Ushers Best, Bishop's Tipple and Ushers Vintage Ales." The distributor also sells Lowenbrau German lager, Franziskaner wheat beer, Manns Brown Ale and Bangla lager. It is in the process of acquiring the Wychwood micro brewer and its brands, which include the successful Hobgoblin premium beer. Thompson said: "Refresh's ambition is to become a key supplier to the off-trade, providing distinctive brands in a range of speciality sectors. "We believe consumers are looking for a choice of beer styles and retailers are seeking professionally marketed and well-supported brands." {{DRINKS }}
