Alternative crisps brand Crips plans to deliver £5m in sales within three years following the relaunch of its premium healthy snacks this week.

It has redesigned the packaging of the two-year-old brand and added five new flavours in an effort to grow its current £720,000 sales to £1.5m within a year and £5m in 2011.

"If we've judged it right, it's just at the time when this area is going to explode," said managing director Gareth Smith.

The brand, which is listed in 90 Waitrose stores and about 250 independent outlets, is focusing its growth strategy on independents and foodservice.
