Allied Domecq has released the 1997 vintage for its Cockburn's LBV port, which will be in store from April with an rsp of £9.99.
The move is the result of the favourable weather conditions in Portugal's Douro Valley, where the wine is produced, which led most of the major port houses to declare a vintage.
Gareth Brown, brand manager for Cockburn's port at ADUK, said: "Cockburn's LBV port's success has been achieved off the back of our strategy not to price discount heavily, but to offer a top quality premium port with stylish packaging and a wooden presentation box that maximises the gift potential."
