Hi, it's obvious to me why whole dairy sales are increasing...Keto diets which encourage consumption of whole fat dairy and are obsessed with grass fed butter ...I may sound naive but how else is milk/butter created?

Another interesting point is that the commercial dairy industry is definitely trying...for example M&S plan only to use RSPCA approved suppliers etc. Whilst it's wrong to scoff at triers - it's not exactly solving the issue at hand ...consumer activism is about removing a calf from its mother after its first suckle.
The countermeasure for this would not be ...are mummy and calf in good clean living conditions- which is probably what the RSPCA will be assessing- rather it should be ...how much longer can we keep the calf with mum ...calf-by-hoof principle. And the packaging needs to change to glass jars which are recyclable and have a deposit system associated with this type of product.
Of course one of the counter arguments is that it is unsafe 'germs wise' for a calf to remain in the commercial milkery environment with mum ...next countermeasure ok how to solve that.

Too many commercial solutions haven't been thought through or considered holistically ...please apply a plaster here!
This industry should study green certification of wood or other foods to see that it doesn't solve the problem.
Step 1. Indentify the problem
Step 2. Apply LEAN methodology and Sustainability Leadership
Step 3. Start to solve the problems.

I would gladly pay more for a decent product or calf by hoof milk ...but where can I buy it?

Well cared for cows live longer and there is less wastage in that formula.

Commercial dairy should start caring more this might counteract some of the consumer activism!
