The Caesar salad is being given a run for its money by Florette, which is offering consumers the chance to create restaurant-style salad recipes at home.
The company has created two premium salad kits - Rocket & Parmesan, which combines rocket, red batavia lettuce and baby leaf chard with parmesan shavings and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and Warm Bacon, a mix of baby leaf spinach, red chard and green batavia lettuce with sachets of bacon pieces and a sweet red pepper dressing. Both have an rsp of £1.99 for a 160g bag.
Sandy Sewell, Florette’s commercial director, said the Caesar salad had successfully introduced consumers to the concept of restaurant-style salads. “Florette is tapping into this trend with creative salad recipes that take the Caesar concept to a new stage.”
The introduction of a warm salad by Florette also encouraged year-round consumption, added Sewell.
