Spanish wine company Codorniu is bringing out a new range of Riojas. The Viña Pomal brand has been developed for the export market to offer retailers “a more modern style” of the classic Spanish wine that will complement more traditional versions.The range includes four wines, priced from £6.99 for the Crianza up to £16.99 for the La Vicalanda Gran Reserva.

Majestic result for wine seller as profits soar

Profits at Majestic Wine soared by 20% over the past six months, as customers spent more on each bottle of wine. Majestic reported pre-tax profits of 8.8m in the 26 weeks to 26 September, up from 7.3m for the equivalent last year.
