Top of the pile came goji berries, with claims they are one of the most nutritionally rich fruits on the planet. Despite being only the size of a raisin, they contain a list of vitamins and minerals that Seven Seas would be proud of.
Acai berries from the Brazilian rainforest contain Omega-6 and 9 as well as a ridiculously high level of antioxidants. Then there's the yumberry, a fruit from south east China and the camu camu berry, which is claimed to contain more Vitamin C than any other known plant in the world. And let's not forget cranberries, pomegranates, almonds, oats and pumpkin seeds, all of which have had starring roles this year.
All we have to wait for now is the backlash. Expect to see the phrase 'does not contain goji berries' on a packet near you soon.
