An Irish nut-free fresh pesto brand has won its first mainland UK listing.
Roots’n’Shoots will launch two of its five lines - red and green pesto - into Booths from 26 February (rsp: £1.99).
Donworth Capital, which bought Roots’n’Shoots’ parent company Taravale Foods last November, plans to extend the brand’s UK listings after “significant” investment to improve production and sourcing efficiency.
It hopes to grow sales by 20% over the next 12 months and is in talks with other UK retailers .
“Once we get the critical volumes, we can use this base to build the brand and introduce new products,” Donworth Capital co-founder John Casey told The Grocer.
