SABMiller’s Chinese Resource Breweries business and another Chinese brewer, Beijing Yanjing Brewery, are reportedly bidding for a 40% stake in Tsingtao Anshan Breweries in China, according to media reports.
The two brewers may bid up to $3.4m (£1.8m) for a stake in Tsingtao, the largest brewer and the number one beer brand in China.
SABMiller lost out on a bid to acquire Harbin Brewery Group in China earlier this year. The brewing company was bought by Anheuser-Busch, the world’s second largest brewer, in May this year.
