SABMiller has reported a 6% increase in organic lager growth for its European business.

In a trading update at the brewer’s annual general meeting yesterday, chief executive, Graham Mackay, said that most of the group’s European operations had seen volume and share growth in the three months to end June 30.

US domestic sales increased by 1% while organic growth in lager volume in Africa and Asia was up 15%.

“The group has achieved a good start to the financial year, with the financial and volume performance for the first quarter to June 30 being in line with our expectations,” Mackay said.
