A new own label range is included in plans for the summer season unveiled by Safeway this week. The Eat Street range will be food to be eaten on the go, with sandwiches and rolls carrying the label being launched on May 13, and suchi, noodles and other snacks and drinks following later in June. The retailer also revealed more details of its World Favourites promotion, which will be the main in-store marketing theme during the summer. This will kick off with an Italian promotion on May 7 and will be followed by a Mediterranean range at the beginning of June. A spokeswoman said it would be cross category with store cupboard ingredients as well as ready meals, pizzas and breads. There will also be a British Summer promotion featuring barbecue meat and fish and new summer additions to the Eat Smart range, including ice cream and smoothies. Currently 11 stores have flower markets staffed by trained florists, and they will be introduced to seven more in time for a summer blooms campaign. {{NEWS }}
