The latest to jump on the election bandwagon is Safeway which is fielding four politically sensitive beers to coincide with general election season. Suitably titled Red Flag, True Blue, Alliance and Nationalist, they went on the shelves this week retailing at £1.49. Safeway will be tracking their popularity on a region by region basis and will be making the most of any extra publicity their diverging sales create. It said Red Flag is a popular union of moderate flavours, Alliance is looking for better representation, and True Blue will not be available in 14 pint cans. Nationalist Ale will not be available in England, while the other three will be on sale in Wales and Scotland as well as England. {{DRINKS }}
