Sainsbury s has linked up with Glasgow City Council to provide free fruit for the city's primary schools in a three-month pilot scheme starting in January, costing more than £10,000. The Glasgow area has four Sainsbury stores from a total of 17 in Scotland. The scheme will target 3,000 children, and fruit will be delivered daily or weekly via the school meals distribution service. It will be sourced locally using Fyffes Multifresh which will provide grapes, apples and bananas, and seasonal variations wherever possible. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
