Sainsbury's has emerged victorious from yesterday's Brammy Awards, which recognise excellence in using and promoting Bramley apples, scoring a hat trick of awards.

The supermarket was named best multiple retailer and was recognised for its innovative use of Bramley apples in its own-label products. In addition, its Taste The Difference Bramley and Pork Sausage won the best Bramley meat award, with its Taste The Difference Kentish Bramley Apple Pie scooping best Bramley sweet product.

The other winners recognised at yesterday's awards were Cottage Delight's Sweet Apple Chutney for best savoury product, Colman's Bramley Apple Sauce for best apple sauce, Compass Group's apple crumble slice for best foodservice product, and Reynolds for best foodservice company. Also recognised were Xanthe Clay as best media writer and James Martin as best media chef.
