Paris Saint-Germain’s latest signing is back at Sainsbury’s.
David Beckham is fronting the retailer’s Active Kids campaign, which kicked off last week, for a second year.
The footballing superstar was unveiled as the face of the campaign, alongside swimmer Ellie Simmonds, in November 2011. He also fronted Sainsbury’s Paralympics 2012 sponsorship.
Beckham is appearing on vouchers for the scheme - which aims to help young people lead healthier, active lives. This year’s campaign, which runs until 22 May, also features double Active Kids vouchers for the first time through Sainsbury’s coupon-at-till technology.
“I’m so proud to be an ambassador for Active Kids,” Beckham said. “I love it when I hear that I’ve inspired a young person to try out sport, and that’s what Active Kids is all about. Plus, as a father of four, I know how important it is to encourage young people to be active.”
More than 49,000 nurseries, schools, scout and guide groups and sports clubs have shared £123m worth of sports, cookery and gardening equipment since 2005.
