A Yorkshire farm shop has stepped up its campaign to show that 90% of its popular meat lines are cheaper than a local Sainsbury’s store.

Family-run Hinchliffe’s, in Netherton, Yorkshire, has created a price comparison chart, which is displayed in its store.

“Not only are we cheaper on 18 out of 20 products, some of our products are considerably cheaper, such as our cooked meats at 30% off the price of competitors, and our award-winning bacon at 34% less,” the poster reads.

Simon Hirst, a partner at the shop, added: “The supermarkets would have us believe they are cheaper than the farm shops and farmers’ markets but, in many cases, this simply isn’t true.”
