Sainsbury’s has recalled 500g packs of its own-label SO Organic Sultanas after Salmonella was found during routine testing.
The retailer said “low levels” of salmonella had been discovered, and that it was acting as a precautionary measure.
“Food safety is our top priority so we immediately took this product off display,” said a spokesman. “We apologise to customers for any concern and inconvenience this causes.”
All date codes of 500g packs of the product have been recalled, and the retailer is displaying recall notices in its stores. Customers are being urged not to eat the product, and to return it to the retailer.
No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.
