Sainsbury’s is to treat 5,000 of its staff to a day out at the Paralympics.

The retailer, which is an official partner of The Games, is giving staff the opportunity to attend the basketball at the olympic Park on 3 September, in an event it has coined ‘Turn the Park Orange’.

“This brings our sponsorship to life and is just one of the many opportunities we’re giving our colleagues from all over the country to take part and raise awareness of the amazing skills and sportsmanship of the Paralympic athletes,” said a Sainsbury’s spokeswoman.

“In addition, customers and colleagues have also had the opportunity to win tickets to different Paralympic sports.”
