Beam Global Spirits & Wine has filled its marketing director role, left vacant when Drew Munro was promoted to general manager in June.
Peter Sandström joins the company, which owns brands such as Jim Beam, Courvoisier and Teacher's, next week from Diageo where he was brand and global innovation director for global duty-free.
"I am excited about the challenge ," said Sandström. "I am committed to continuing the success we've had so far with creative marketing, impacting on the consumer experience and customer business."
Munro was appointed to his current role when MD Adrian McKeon left the company to join Cobra Beer as chief executive. During the restructure, Jonathan Stordy, MD of Spain, France and Portugal took on the additional responsibility of the UK following McKeon's departure.
"We are delighted to have Peter on board. He brings years of relevant experience in the spirits business to the role," said Munro.
