A UK-wide campaign to boost the consumption of Scottish venison will begin in September.

The Scottish Venison Working Group has named 4 September as Eat Scottish Venison Day and is launching a new website including nutritional information, recipes and listings of where to buy. There will also be publicity on the day.

"This is the first time all Scotland's main producers of wild and farmed venison have joined together to put their product firmly on the map," said the group's chairman, Stephen Gibbs.
