As the major retailers lined up to promote sustainable fish in the run up to last week's Seafood Week, one group was urging people to boycott fish altogether.

Self-styled health charity the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation published a range of recipes for fish-free seafood dishes, including a paella with 26 ingredients.

Campaigner Justine Butler said: "These meals do not contain the mercury, dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls found in many fish."
