The Sea Fish Industry Authority has called on supermarkets and fishmongers to take part in an interactive careers event.
Around 120,000 visitors are expected at SkillCity London 2005 on 6-9 July. Seafish will be hosting a maritime zone at the event, said Kevin Franklin, senior training adviser.
He added: “We intend to offer a range of activities for children and young people to take part in on the stand. This could involve net mending or fish filleting. We would also like to see other seafood businesses, including representatives from supermarkets and independent fishmongers, represented on the stand.”
