Premium milk shake brand Shaken Udder is predicting a massive boost to sales after winning its first Tesco listing.
Two existing flavours of Shaken Udder, Strawberry Stash and Chocolush, will hit 440 Tesco stores on Monday alongside a new flavour, Vanillalicious, which will be exclusive to Tesco.
Sales doubled overnight after the brand went into Sainsbury’s earlier this year, said co-founder Jodie Farran, who predicted the new Tesco contract meant sales would double again. “The deal really is a dream come true.”
The Tesco contract win followed the appointment in spring 2011 of a new Tesco buyer who had been “blown away” by the product, Farran claimed.
Vanillalicious was “deliciously rich and smooth” and, like the other variants, was made with British milk and natural flavourings, said Farran. “Vanilla is such a classically popular flavour that we really felt the time was right to introduce it to the Shaken Udder herd.”
The new Tesco contract adds to other listings in Waitrose, Ocado, regional co-op stores and Selfridges.
All Shaken Udder milk shakes have an rsp of £1.69.
