Fish specialist Simpson's has developed its first frozen value-added range.

The new own-label line, arriving in September, will contain six different fish species, though the exact line-up has yet to be confirmed.

All the fish will be accompanied by a sauce, butter or glaze.

New packaging technology, which Simpson's claims is a first for the frozen fish sector, will be rolled out for the range.

The technology would maintain perfect product quality while reducing the volume of packaging used by 2.34 tonnes annually, the company claimed.
