Demand is improving in the bacon market in the run up to the festive season.
Danish operators said trade was beginning to pick up but expected things to get even busier over the coming weeks. Danish backs have dropped very slightly in price.
The Dutch sector has also seen a marginal weakening in price which traders put down to oversupply.
They said demand was good, with slicers extremely busy, almost operating at full capacity as Christmas approaches.
Demand for British is beginning to heat up as well, traders reported. There has been little change in price, but in terms of retail demand things were taking off, said one.
