Diageo is adding a Smirnoff vodka and cola variant to its premix can line-up.

The new 250ml can, which rolls out this week, takes the range to eight variants, including Smirnoff vodka & cranberry juice drink and Gordon's gin & Schweppes.

The range, which will be given a £5m TV push later in the year, was designed to bring the quality of bar-served drinks into consumers' homes, said Diageo.

"Our premix cans offer shoppers the opportunity to enjoy their favourite spirit drink with minimum effort," said Charlotte Brown, innovations commercialisation manager. "We expect Smirnoff and cola to be a real winner and a key driver in making spirits as convenient as beer and wine in the homes of consumers."
