Ethical consumer brand One has teamed up with top-flight rugby club Saracens.
One becomes Saracens’ exclusive water partner, supplying the club for all of this season’s games, including fixtures in the Aviva Premiership and Heineken Cup.
It will exclusively supply the bars and restaurants at Saracens’ new Allianz Park stadium in Hendon, North London, from early 2013 and will work with the club on community projects in Africa.
One Water was launched by entrepreneur Duncan Goose in 2005, when it was chosen as the official water for Live 8 and the Make Poverty History movement.
It is sold in major supermarkets including Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado and all sales of One Water fund projects in Africa to provide clean drinking water for the local communities.
“The club has very strong links with Africa,” Goose said of Saracens. “Many of the players have seen first-hand the harsh reality of having to walk for up to five hours a day to find clean drinking water.”
