Portugal's largest wine company, Sogrape, is launching a new range of wines in the UK which puts the emphasis on the diversity of the country's wine regions. Its Reserva collection, which features premium wines from the Dão, Douro and Alentejo regions (rsp:£8.99), will be unveiled at the Portuguese trade tasting in London on April 24. Their introduction follows the success of the launch of a mid-priced (£4.29-£4.99) regional range last year, which won listings in Waitrose, Safeway, Morrisons and Oddbins. A spokeswoman for Sogrape said: "Portugal has to try to catch up with the New World which has had a major success with the leading grape varieties. "Portugal has different grapes and regional variations which create different flavours, but no one has really promoted them." {{DRINKS }}
