Spanish ham producers are predicting at least a 12% lift in cured ham exports this year. 1999 saw a 15% lift in year on year volumes, which were 12,134t. The first quarter of this year has seen a 9% volume growth in exports, and curers are optimistic. There is disappointment however, that "export prices have remained low due to the growing production in Spain and the prices of fresh meat", according to the Consorcio del Jamon Serrano Español. {{PROVISIONS }}
