Improved weather has put the Spanish strawberry season back on course but last month producers destroyed over 6,000 tonnes of fruit which were unpickable.
The weather has cost growers as much as £74m, one third of total earnings last season.
Meanwhile the first Belgian and English glasshouse Elsanta are coming forward, although volumes are light.
