Spar has launched a new strategy to dramatically improve fresh food and meal occasions.

MD Debbie Robinson said the ‘Inspiring Growth’ strategy was based on significant customer research, which found that customers wanted to see improvements in fresh vegetables and meat from Spar.

“We’ll be doing meal deals for breakfast, lunch and evening meals and making much more of occasions like Mother’s Day,” Robinson said. “This is the most joined up approach we’ve had.”

Spar was also embarking on a root-and-branch review of its range to get rid of duplicate lines and make room for growth areas, Robinson added.
