Spar retailer Gillett’s has posted a 6.47% increase in full-year sales.

The company, which operates 59 stores, said sales had increased to £59.6m in the year to 28 October 2011, with profits up 36.92% to £1.27m.

Sales were boosted by the first year’s trading of five new stores bought the year before, it added in accounts filed at Companies House. Gillet’s did not open any stores last year, but got back on the acquisition trail in February, snapping up a freehold and a leasehold store in Devon.
