Sparky brand, which introduced an Omega-3 laden range earlier this year, has expanded into oat and superfruit bars, added a new juice variant and invested in new packaging.

The blueberry & strawberry and pomegranate & raspberry bars have launched in Boots and are rolling out elsewhere, while the new juice, which features the high-profile superfruit, acai berries, is listed in Tesco.

New packaging across all the lines retains the signature green livery but has a more conventional look than before.

Sparky's deliberately mis-spelled Use Yuor Loaf bread failed to hit shelves in major supermarkets when rivals, such as Allied Bakeries' Kingsmill Head Start, brought more cash to the marketing table. The branded chickens with added Omega-3 were also shelved, after this year's bird flu scare.

Founder Jeremy Schwartz said the company had honed its offering to focus on superfruits, adding that he still hoped to build on the bread's listings in Selfridges and independents.
