Italian pasta manufacturer Pasta Lensi is launching a range of reduced-carb pasta in September under the Lensi LoCarb brand.
The new wheat-based dry pasta, available in 250g packs of spaghetti, fusilli and penne from September (rsp: 99p), is said to yield half the carbs of regular pasta in consumption because the carbohydrates from the wheat are isolated and, therefore, not digested.
Lensi’s UK commercial director Nigel Singh said: “It’s already doing very well in the US, where it launched in February under the Mueller's brand. It is now in all the major chains like Wal-Mart, Target and Kroger.”
