Waitrose has given a listing to Soignon spreadable goats’ cheese. The French product, described as having an almost yogurty flavour, sells at £1.59 for a 150g tub.

Soignon’s UK retail manager, Emma Sully, said Waitrose’s decision to stock the cheese reflected trends in the market.

“Spreadable formats are increasingly popular in the UK,” she said, “and goats’ cheese is one of the fastest growing sectors within the cheese category, helping to drive the overall market growth.”
