Gallaher has tapped into the market potential of the post-prandial ritual of a cigar and coffee by combining the two. Its Cappuccino miniature cigar has an Ecuadorian-grown wrapper and a mild coffee-style flavour - a nod

towards more Continental flavours.

At the time of its launch, back in February, Gallaher said it had studied trends across Europe and it had recognised the emergence of a consumer interest in miniatures and aromatic cigars. As a result, it created Cappuccino to tackle this market and challenge the brand leader, Café Crème. The producer said the brand should appeal to women and younger smokers, which it hopes to draw into a category that is traditionally associated with mature male smokers.
