Stein’s Bark to be lighter than his Bite

Celebrity chef Rick Stein is developing a beer to join his Chalky’s Bite ale, which he launched in 2006. He is again working with Cornwall’s Sharp’s Brewery on the beer, which will be called Chalky’s Bark. In contrast to the first beer, which is 6.8% abv, Chalky’s Bark will be lighter at about 4% abv. “Drinkers have been telling us that although they loved Chalky’s Bite they could really only drink one because of its strength,” Stein told The Grocer. “It seemed a logical step to develop another beer that was more quaffable.”
