ABInBev is revamping its Stella Artois packaging and launching an ad campaign to highlight the beer's Christimas origins.

The packs, available now, feature a limited-edition gold, white and red design and carry an "originally crafted for Christ­mas" message that flags up the fact that Stella was first brewed in Leuven as a Christmas beer.

A limited-edition Stella Artois 750ml Champagne-style bottle, which has been brewed and packed in Belgium and features an embossed Christmas star, completes the festive line-up this year.

"We are celebrating Stella's unique festive heritage and tapping into shoppers' Christmas spirit," said James Watson, marketing director, Stella Artois, Western Europe.

A digital push and a new TV ad, reflecting the traditional theme and message, will run during November and December.
