New Zealand growers are optimistic about a range of plum varieties to be released to the industry this year. They include internationally grown varieties such as Black Amber, Angelino, Flavour King, Royal Star and a plumcot called Flavour Rich. The centre of the emergent industry based on the Hawkes Bay region believe that ultimately this will provide fruit for European supermarkets for seven months, extending the traditional season to as late as May. {{M/E FRESH PRODUCE }}
