Well done on landing Morrisons’ first win for a while. What is the reason for your success? We have a really strong team and we work very hard to make sure we are giving great service to every single customer on every single visit.

How are you able to monitor this? We have a short online survey that customers can fill in to give feedback on their shop and we get to see that in store as soon as they complete it. They get a chance to win £200 by sending their responses and I tend to get around 30 to 40 of these through a month. Generally, the feedback is very positive at the moment.

Is there a sense that Morrisons as a whole has turned a corner? Definitely. We have a really good six-point plan to focus on to help drive the business forward, and a lot of that is about simplifying and speeding up the business. We also have sales-based ordering coming online this year and I’m really confident this will see a big improvement in our availability. The business is a lot more responsive these days. CEO David Potts was here last summer and I told him this would be a great store for our Nutmeg clothing. Within a couple of months, we had the full range in and it is doing really well.

What do you make of Morrisons’ tie-up with Amazon? It’s great; everyone is very excited about it and I think it shows we are getting on to the front foot. The deal is capital light and we all knew Amazon was coming into the sector, so to be working with them at this stage is great for us.

And finally, are you expecting a good Easter? I think so, we have some great offers this year, in particular legs of lamb for £4/kg, while we also have a great supply of Easter eggs. Last year we were scratching around a bit for stock, but this year it really looks like we have got it right with some great deals available, not just on these but also on alcohol and 28p vegetables.
