Heineken has won the inaugural ACS Store Challenge for improvements to a store owner's BWS category.

Category planning manager Nicola Grant reviewed the range and devised a planogram that led to a 32% sales uplift in cider and 25% rise in pizza sales at a Costcutter in Coventry.

Owner Paul Cheema said a new meal deal, which offers two Al Forno pizzas and eight cans of Kronenbourg, maintained sales of the Heineken-owned brand despite the store losing beer sales overall to a Costco, which recently opened nearby.
