Australian scientists have created a sun block for fruit.
The zinc cream is a clay-like product, sprayed on orchard trees to stop sun damaging fruit like avocados and apples.
The non-toxic substance is called Surround and was developed by the Department of Primary Industries and Forestry in Queensland.
It washes off easily and leaves no bad taste or odours, and researchers claimed it can also improve yields.
A spokesman said: “You seem to get bigger fruit and more fruit set, and there is potential to reduce pesticide usage.”
