Heinz is launching a raft of summer marketing for its sauces as part of a £2m investment on the range.

A new ad for Salad Cream, which hits screens from 9 July for eight weeks, attempts to "encourage lapsed consumers back to the brand" and highlight the versatility of the sauce by showing a "modern gran" character using it to transform a range of foods.

Meanwhile, a new summer campaign, BBQ Heroes, kicked off this week asking consumers to upload photos of themselves using a bottle of Heinz or HP-branded sauce in an entertaining way.

The activity will be supported by a £700k press campaign with a superhero theme flagging up the "secret abilities" of HP and Heinz sauces. "We want to inspire fans of al fresco eating with recipe ideas to ensure our sauces have a place at every eating occasion," said Adrian Mooney, marketing director Heinz Sauces.
