Profits have leapt 62.9% at CK’s supermarkets after the Welsh independent chain closed three stores.

Pre-tax profits climbed to £1.2m in the year to 30 April on sales down 2.1% to £31.5m, according to accounts filed at Companies House.

The Nisa member revealed earlier this year it had sold one store and ceased trading at two others because it was “proving a logistic nightmare to keep the stores fully stocked”.
